The University Vice-President Zhao Jianfu Visited the United States

From June 15thto 22nd, the University Vice-President Zhao Jianfu led a delegation consisted of teachers and students from College of Environmental Science and Engineering and College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University to visit the United States upon invitation. The delegacy participated in the Innovative Design of Sustainable Development Seminar held in Stanford University. This seminar was jointly held by Tongji University, Stanford University, California Polytechnic State University and Sino-American Sustainable Development Foundation. All the participants present at the seminar reached consensus on the initial steps to build the multilateral cooperation framework among universities of China and US.

During the seminar, Zhao Jianfu met Prof. Stephanie Kalfayan, the academic subdean of Stanford, and exchanged ideas about cooperation on scientific research between the two universities.

After the seminar, the delegacy visited University of California, Berkeley. Zhao Jianfu met the Executive Vice-President of University of California, Berkeley and Prof. George W. Breslauer, the academic dean, etc. He introduced the disaster relief work the University had done after the Sichuan Earthquake. The two sides also communicated about the fields and modes of future cooperation.

The delegacy also visited University of California, Riverside.
