New cooperation between Tongji and international enterprises was developed recently. On the afternoon of July 8th,Collegeof Automobile, Tongji signed cooperative frame agreement with Peugeot Citroen (China) and decided to establish thePeugeot Citroen (China)—Tongji Cooperative Center. The two parties will cooperate on the talent cultivation and technical research of automobile. Peugeot Citroen (China) planned to invest 1.7 million euro on the project in the next 5 years.
The signing ceremony was held at the Clean Energy Automotive EngineeringCenterof Tongji University on Jiaidng Campus. The University Vice-President Chen Xiaolong, Yu Zhuoping, the University President Assistant and Dean ofCollegeof Automobile and Vajsman, CEO of China Affairs Department, Peugeot Citroen signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides respectively. Dong Qi, the University President Assistant and director of Foreign Affairs Office attended the ceremony.


According to the agreement, the two sides will develop cooperation on personnel training and technical research. Peugeot Citroen will choose training instructor from the teachers ofCollegeof Automobile, and send them to France for a 6-month training course. Peugeot Citroen will also set up corresponding chairs and scholarships inCollegeof Automobile and provide more opportunities of visiting, practicing and working for the students. From this September,Collegeof Automobile will offer French course for the undergraduate students in order to cultivate high-level automobile professionals who speak French. Besides, the two sides will look for some common interested research subjects and jointly develop technical research.
