On July 3rd, the thesis defense meeting of Tognji-TU Berlin joint cultivating double master degree candidates majoring in urban designing was held at Architecture & Urban PlanningCollege.20 Tongji graduate students and 7 TU Berlin graduate students finished their studies in Berlin and Shanghai. They participated in the thesis defense lasting for two days after their thesis writing in Tongji. TechnicalUniversityof Berlin
The two universities attached great importance to this thesis defense meeting. Prof. Rudolf Schaefer, Dean of Architectural Planning and Environmental Engineering College, TU Berlin, Prof. Peter Herrle, German principal of this joint cultivating project and Adrian Atkinson, Klaus Zillich, etc-4 German professors attended the defense meeting. Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Dean of Architecture & Urban PlanningCollege, Tongji, Prof. Li Zhenyu, Chineseprincipal of this joint cultivating project and other 19 teachers attended the defense meeting as dissertation committee members.
Tognji-TU Berlin Joint Cultivating Project of Double Master Degree was a project supporting by Chinese and German governments and was established under the framework of academic exchange and cooperation between Chinese and German higher education institutions. The two universities signed the agreement in 2003 and began their cooperation on the major of urban designing in 2006. Chinese and German governments provided special financial aid for this project.
