On the afternoon of July 20th, Liu Yandong, member of thePoliticalBureau of the CPC Central Committee andStateCouncilor inspected Tongji University. She learned about the situations of disciplines development and Resource-SavingCampusconstruction and visited theMuseumof University History while listening to the introduction of the university development, especially the planning of the World Expo, designing of Olympic stadium, bridge construction, and economiccirclearound Tongji University, etc. She also visited some Resource-SavingCampusconstruction projects-hydrogen vehicles and assembly hall, etc. and watched the exhibition of Resource-SavingCampusconstruction and photo exhibition of Tongji 5.12 earthquake relief activities. Yu Zhengsheng, member of thePoliticalBureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Communist Party, Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC and Minister of Science and Technology, Zhou Ji, Minister of Education and Han Zheng, the Mayor of Shanghai were in the inspection team.
During the inspection, Liu Yandong listened to the introduction and watched the exhibition and projects carefully. She chimed in with questions frequently to learn about the relative matters. She took photos with the research personnel gladly while observing the hydrogen vehicles.
