Administrative Vice-president Li Yongsheng Visited the United States on Invitation

Li Yongsheng, administrative vice-president of our university, was invited by the Association of American Public Universities to present himself on Sino-American higher education forum hosted in Portsmouth in mid-July and delivered a theme address on scientific research in colleges and international cooperation between them.

Li Yongsheng also paid a visit to Davis University in California and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. At Davis University, he had a friendly conversation with Barry Klein, vice-president of the university about the cooperation and exchange in the field of scientific cooperation between two sides, and then co-signed the agreement of establishing Tongji-Davis sustainable development center.

During the visit at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he signed an interuniversity frame agreement with it, in which the future all-around cooperation was promised. In the course of the conversation, William Walker, vice-president presiding strategic development and foreign affairs, and Wolf von Maltzahn, vice-president presiding scientific research, introduced respectively the development history and status quo of the institute, status of scientific research, projects of international education cooperation, the development of school of engineering and School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Li Yongsheng made an introduction of talents training, scientific research, social work and international cooperation of our university. He also visited Rensselaer Science and Technology Park and the in-progress experiment media and performing arts center and so on.
