On the morning of October 30th, the University President Pei Gang attended the founding meeting of Sino-French New Silk Road College and met Mr. Roger Fougeres, vice-chairman of high education and scientific research ofRhône-Alpes. New Silk Road College was initiated by E M Lyon, Lyon Humanities &Social Sciences Normal University, Lyon Normal University and INSA. These four universities together with Tongji, East China Teachers University, and ChinaEuropeInternational Business School (CEIBS) signed the official letter of intention. This college was aimed at establishing a platform for communications between shanghai and Lyon, developing expert database, training and research projects, and sharing the alumni network and university-enterprise cooperative relation. More exchanging activities in the fields of education, culture, science and technologies between China and France will be held in Marco Polo Conference in 2009.
