On the morning of April 10th, Chinese Antarctic Expedition sailed back on the scientific exploration ship Snow Dragon to the domestic dock base at Pudong District in Shanghai at ten. This 25thAntarctic exploration, during which the expedition completed the construction of Kunlun Station and missions of scientific exploration, lasted 173 days and covered more than 25 thousand marines. As a member of this Polar ScientificExpedition, Dr. Pang Xihong from Tongji post-doctoral mobile station of marine science returned triumphant.
Dr. Pang chose this hard mission when his wife was pregnant. During this Antarctic exploration, he carried out the mission of exploring Dulk Glacier and Amery Ice Shelf. His task was essential for the research of material balance on Antarctic ice sheet, connection between ice sheet movement and sea level fluctuation, Antarctic climatic change, etc. After completing the mission, he saw his 70-days daughter for the first time at the dock base.
