May 21, 2009

On May 16th, design proposal of Spanish Pavilion for 2010 Shanghai World Expo gave its first show in Tongji University. It was learned that the outer walls of Spanish Pavilion were decorated by rattans, and supported by steel struts. The whole pavilion took on a streamline pattern. The sunlight poured in the pavilion through these rattans. 8524 rattan boards of different colors and textures formed a series of old Chinese characters. The outer walls presented a Chinese poem, which gave Chinese audience a deep impression.
