On April 15, Vice President Dong Qi received the Vice President Motzko of the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) in Room 215 of Yifu Building. Prof. Gao Xin and Prof. Chen Jianguo of the College of Economics and Management and some relative people of the International Office attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Vice President Dong Qi introduced the latest development of Tongji University, especially the "Excellent Engineer" Project, and expressed our appreciation for the efforts and work TU Darmstadt had done for the 30 year anniversary of the Partnership between both universities which took place in Germany in October last year. As one of the most important partner universities of Tongji University in Germany, TU Darmstadt has a solid cooperation basis with Tongji University. Especially in fields of Environment Engineering, Professional Training, Automotive Engineering as well as Economics and Management, both sides have established a long term cooperation relationship. Vice President Dong Qi proposed that both universities should make vigorous efforts to promote the cooperation in the field of excellent engineers education, and as the first movement both sides should develop a double degree program in Mechanical Engineering. Vice President Motzko agreed with Vice President Dong Qi totally and believed that the future of both universities would be better and better.
