On October 18th, Prof. Jeanette Hacket, Chair of Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) and her delegation of 12 members visited Tongji University. Vice president Dong Qi received the delegation. After reviewing the previous exchanges between the two sides, the vice president expressed his aspiration to push forward exchanges and collaboration in the form of short-term student exchange programs, joint badging of degrees and joint establishment of a Tongji Nano Research Center. Prof. Jeanette Hacket gave a brief introduction to ATN and appreciated highly the cooperation with Tongji. After the meeting, both sides signed an MOU.
In the morning there was a Tongji-ATN Nano Technology Workshop and 20 professors addressed their speeches. In the afternoon, two sides discussed the PhD exchange program and reached an agreement that a 3-month PhD exchange program with 5 to 10 participants will be carried out since 2012. Cooperation on joint badging of Masters and PhD program can be further promoted on this basis.
