On Nov. 2nd, the grand opening of the 2nd phase ofAalto-Tongji Design Factoryand the opening ceremony of the 1st anniversary of SFC were held in SFC. Working together, Prof. Zhou Jialun, Chairman of University Council, Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Vice President of the university, Matti Heimonen, Consul General of Finland in Shanghai, Martti Raevaara, Vice President of Aalto University and Hannu Seristo, Vice President of Aalto University cracked open the door of the new space of ATDF with two big hammers, and this symbolized the opening of a new chapter for Sino-Finnish Collaboration. Hulmet, Vice Chairman of CUMULUS, Lin Mingfeng, Chairman of Unilumin Group Co., Ltd and some other distinguished guests were also present at the ceremony. Prof. Lou Yongqi and Prof. Sotama, Vice Directors of SFC hosted the ceremony.
Chairman Zhou first reviewed the situation of the unveiling ceremony of SFC at the same time last year as well as achievements gained during the past year. He extended sincere thanks to those cooperative companies of Tongji University, and also encouraged SFC to continue to collaborate with colleagues in different fields from all over the world. Vice President Wu Zhiqiang gave a speech to express his gratitude towards support from all parties. New collaborators of SFC also gave brief introduction to their upcoming programs and unveiled those programs together with representatives from Tongji, including 2012 WDC Shanghai Office, CUMULUS Lab Shanghai, DESIS Lab-Tongji and Tongji-Unilumin Urban Lightening Design & Innovation Centre, etc. University leaders, the Consul General, company representatives as well as staff of SFC gathered together and took photos to celebrate this unforgettable moment.
