On Nov 16th when the tenth anniversary of IESD is drawing close, the IESD 2011 Board Meeting was held in Beijing with the presence of Prof. Wang Guangtao, Chairman of Environment and Resource Protection Committee, National People's Congress of China and Chairman of Board of IESD, Prof. Wang Gang, Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Achim Steiner, Under-Secretary-General of United Nations and Executive Director of UNEP, Prof. Zheng Guoguang, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration, Prof. Xu Jianmin, China's National Satellite Meteorological Center, Dr. Young-Woo Park, Representative for Asia and the Pacific, UNEP, Prof. Pei Gang, President of Tongji University, Prof. Wu Jiang, Vice President of Tongji, and Prof. Li Fengting, Vice Dean of IESD. Professors of the Environmental Science and Engineering College, the Law School, and the School of Political Science and International Relations were also present.
IESD 2011 Annual Progress Report and the 2012 Annual Work Plan were adopted on the meeting. In addition, Cooperative Agreement on African projects was signed between MoST and UNEP, MoU on enhancing cooperation, between UNEP and Tongji, and Cooperative Agreement on Key Laboratory of Climate Change, between CMA and Tongji.
