The Eleventh English Talent Competition Final, co-hosted byyouth league committeeof Tongji University, School of Foreign Languages and 21st Century, was held grandly on the night of November 1, in the lecture hall of Yifu Building. Representatives from the Dean’s Office, the Students Union and youth league committee of Tongji University attended the final as special guests.
The final contained impromptu speech and impromptu interview. Ten competitors from different majors of Siping Campus and Jiading Campus stood out among about 200 competitors. They gave audiences a memorable night with impressive speech on the topic of “my view on Social networking” which showed their comprehensive English abilities and high spirits. At last, Wang Juyi, freshman of English major, won the champion, and Shao Luyun, also the freshman of Automobile Department, won the 'Most Popular Prize'.
English Talent Competition of Tongji University, has been successfully held for 11 times, faces all the students at Tongji University, and serves as the highest scale of contests for testing comprehensive English ability. The authoritative, academic and interesting contest leads students to pay attention to the social hotspots and gives them chances to have their voices. It also explores the second class of English study.
