During April and May, the former president of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Herbert Mang came to visit Tongji University and carried out collaborative research as the National Chair Professor within the “Recruitment Program of Global Experts”.Prof. Zuyi Zhou, the Chairman of University Council of Tongji University, expressed praise and recognition for Prof. Mang’s endeavor to promote the academic status of Tongji University across the world.
Now, Prof. Herbert Mang is fully engaged to applying for international collaboration project to be submitted to the Austrian National Science Fund with Prof. Yong Yuan from College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University. The project is based on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, aiming to bridge the gap between engineering application and academic research as well as promote the scientific research of underground structures. Leaders of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Department of Personnel, and College of Civil Engineering of Tongji University strongly supported the application.
