On sunny autumn days when shadows took shape at dawn, sophomores from Tongji University made arduous and unremitting efforts during military training. They vowed to protect our homes and defend our country. That was why they devoted themselves to military training, full of pride and enthusiasm. The closing ceremonies of military training 2015 which were marked by military parades were staged on Siping Road Campus and Jiading Campus of Tongji University on 10thSept.

National anthem was played at the start of the ceremonies, which was followed by military parades of sophomores in army uniforms who had just finished their military training on campus. Three students with an army flag in their hands from the mobile squad marched forward proudly with their heads held high in front of all the other teachers and students as well as officers and soldiers responsible for the military training amid the Military Anthem of the People's Liberation Army. YANG Xianjin, Chairman of the University Council made an inspection tour of the student solider squads in the company of JIAN Hui.
The marchpast officially started with the gun squad of the first battalion. Student soldiers kept a firm grip on their guns, looking solemn and calm. Then other squads marched past the inspection platform one after another. They were high in spirits, shouting slogans loudly, showing fortified unity. They displayed soldierly resolution and fortitude to give their best performance after military training.

During the report-back meetings displaying achievements of the military training, students from the first battalion demonstrated men’s military boxing sonorously, forcefully and momentously, while students from the third battalion staged women’s military boxing, vividly illustrating the saying that Chinese women have strong wills to face the powder and not to powder the face. Furthermore, students from the second battalion performed bayonet calisthenics, brimmed with overwhelming heroic sentiments. And students from the fifth battalion demonstrated such movements in catch wrestling as falling sideways, falling straight and proactive capture, and their performances had simply brought the house down. In addition, officers and soldiers demonstrated how an infantry launched a military offensive. They were divided into a red squad and a blue squad and staged a defensive-offensive play, thus giving a lively description of the army’s rigorous military tactics and superb military techniques.

The military parade came to an end eventually, leaving a lasting impression on students’ mind. They felt proud that they had successfully completed the military training from which they gained so much and would transfer the high spirit they had for the training to their study to achieve academic excellence.
