As the whistle blew to end the game on December 27, Tongji University Men's Basketball team defeated the Shanghai Maritime University team with a score of 75:71 winning the Second Shanghai University Basketball League Men's Division A championship 2020-2021 and took First Place in the Chinese College Basketball League Two, Men's Division, for the second consecutive season in Shanghai. Our team will go on to compete in the National Finals next year.
Tongji University Men's Basketball Team
Since the start of this year's Shanghai University Basketball Championship, Tongji's players have become increasingly courageous, showing the spirit of the Tongji people. In the group stage, our team beat the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics Team with a score of 56:38, and beat last year's runner-up, the Donghua University Team, with a score of 70:55 entering the elimination round with a victorious record. In the first game of the elimination match, our team beat the Shanghai Medical College Team by 30 points to enter the the quarterfinals. In the eight-in and four-elimination rounds, our team defeated the powerful East China University of Political Science and Law Team 68:52 and advanced to the semifinals. In the second half of the semi-finals, our team eventually took the Shanghai University Team with 69:65—the winning ticket to compete in next year's National Finals. In the final game played on December 27th, our team faced last year's champion, the Shanghai Maritime University Team. After fierce competition, the Tongji team finally won the championship.
