The "Ideological and Political Film and TV Education Base", co-founded by the School of Marxism, Tongji University and Campus Cinema, was inaugurated on the evening of April 27. The inauguration ceremony was addressed by Mr. YU Chunchi, Chairman of Campus Cinema, and Mr. WU Guangming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Tongji University, and was attended by officials from the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee of Tongji University and the School of Marxism.

Mr. YU Chunchi said that Campus Cinema, co-founded by the Ministry of Education and the former State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, is an online-offline integrated campus-culture conglomerate dedicated to serving ideological and political education, higher learning, campus-culture construction, industry-university integration, and the cultural needs of teachers and students, adding that Campus Cinema will take the opportunity of campus cinema construction at Tongji University to provide high-quality films for teachers and students and to make classic patriotic movies the best teaching materials for ideological and political education.

In his address, Mr. WU Guangming conveyed his appreciation for the strong support given to Tongji University by Campus Cinema, adding that Tongji University regards Party history learning and education as an important political task continuing throughout the years. By co-building the "Ideological and Political Film and TV Education Base" with Campus Cinema, he said, the School of Marxism could avail itself of patriotic films to promote patriotism education, to forge a new front of ideological and political education under the "Second Class", and to motivate young students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs and follow the Party forever.

After the inauguration ceremony, teacher and student representatives from different departments and schools of Tongji University watched the movie Beginning of the Great Revival to learn the history of the Communist Party of China.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and in carrying out Party history learning and education, the “Ideological and Political Film and TV Education Base” of the School of Marxism will take a comprehensive collection of films as the teaching materials for teachers, students and Party members to gain a thorough knowledge of the history and contributions of the Communist Party of China and carry forward the revolutionary spirit.
