Delegation of Tongji University pays visit to the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee

On May 6, Vice Secretary PENG Zhenwei and former Vice Secretary XU Jianping of the CPC Committee of Tongji University led a delegation of the heads of the Department of Student Affairs, the Youth League Committee and the Student Career Guidance Center of Tongji University to pay a working visit to the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and to see the graduates of Tongji University who work at the primary level in Sichuan Province. The delegation was greeted by CHEN Guansong, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Director-General (concurrent post) of Sichuan Provincial Administration of Civil Service and first-level inspector, as well as high-ranking officials from the Human Resources Division, the Second Civil Service Division and the Cadre Team Building & Planning Office of the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee

CHEN Guansong extended his appreciation to Tongji University for its long-term support for the development of Sichuan Province, and hailed the time-honored history and deep roots of the cooperation between Sichuan Province and Tongji University, stressing that the two sides have, under the province-university strategic cooperation framework, seen fruitful results in spheres such as strategic policy-making consultation, urban development planning and talent fostering & exchanges. Speaking highly of Tongji graduates, he hoped that the two sides could work closely to further improve the talent fostering and supply mechanism and to encourage more outstanding Tongji graduates to start careers and businesses in Sichuan Province.

Thanking the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee for its trust in and kind support to Tongji University, as well as its high recognition of Tongji graduates, Mr. PENG Zhenwei briefed the participants on the achievements scored by Tongji University in various aspects over the recent years and recalled the fruitful cooperation carried out between the two sides. He added that the renewal of the university-province strategic cooperation agreement would promise a whole-new stage of cooperation between the two sides in a wide range of areas. As the "second hometown" of Tongji University, he said, Sichuan attracts hundreds of Tongji graduates to work and live in the province every year, and Tongji University will put more efforts into students' career guidance in order to send more outstanding graduates to work in Sichuan Province.

Afterwards, the delegation went to the Chengdu Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau to visit Tongji graduates working at the primary level, and held a symposium with LIU Jian, member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Secretary of the Party Committee of Administrative Offices of the Bureau, and 7 Tongji graduates.

At the symposium, Mr. LIU Jian extended his appreciation to Tongji University for its kind help and strong support for Chengdu's urban development and construction, and hoped that Tongji could encourage more excellent graduates best fit for the development needs of Chengdu to start their dream careers in Chendu. An official from the Personnel Department of Chengdu Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau systematically introduced the policies rolled out by the Bureau to foster the career development of college graduates working at the primary level. WANG Xujun and LIU Fengming, representatives of Tongji graduates, respectively reported their experience and thoughts of primary-level work, and extended their gratitude and blessings to Tongji University, their alma mater.

Lauding the platform built by the Bureau for Tongji graduates to thrive, Mr. PENG Zhenwei stressed that Tongji University, as a strong backing for its graduates, always cares about their growth and development, and hoped that all alumni would stick to their original aspirations, carry forward the spirit of working together as responsible partners, dedicate themselves to the burgeoning socioeconomic development of Chengdu, and carry on the friendship between Tongji and Sichuan.

The delegation also paid a visit to China Southwest Architecture Design and Research Institute to discuss on the implementation of university-enterprise cooperation and the coordination of campus recruitment.
