Canteens

For Tongji University folks, a constellation of canteens across the campus console the stomach of the whole community with healthy, nutritious and delicious meals.

1.1 Siping Campus

1.1.1 Xueyuan Canteen

Located in the east of the Siping Campus, also known as Xueyuan Food Court , is a must try! With a great variety of cuisines at reasonable prices, it serves people from all over China and across the world.

This canteen was rated No. 3 in the China University Canteen Competition 2019.

A good variety of food made of flour is available here, including dumplings, dim sums, snacks, noodles, fried rice noodles, steamed buns, cakes, steamed corn sticks, and mini hot pots.

A typical Shanghainese snack,shengjian, or crisp pan-fried bun, is best served when hot.

B. Xueyuan Regular Food (west side)

10:00-13:00 and 16:00-18:15

There are five windows serving regular lunch and dinner to thousands of students at this section every day. Dishes vary from window to window and more than a dozen dishes are served at each window. Soup is at the far end.

C. Xueyuan Middle Island (in the middle)

7:00-22:00 (MON-FRI)

7:00-20:00 (SAT & SUN)

There are two counters providing breakfast from Monday to Friday.

The dessert section also operates on weekdays only.

After dinner or in a hot evening, cool your body and mind with a cup of frozen yogurt.

1.1.2 Xiyuan Canteen

Located in the west of the Siping Campus,Xiyuan Canteen is a flagship conglomerate of canteens, a cafeteria, street food stalls and a bakery, offering an array of gastronomic choices for international foodies.

FLOOR -1:

student restaurant that serves snacks, dim sum and noodles.

Knife-pared noodles, ramen, xiaolongbao (small steamed buns) and pastas are served during lunchtime and suppertime.

Bread and cakes fresh from oven are served here by the biggest bakery of Tongji University. Birthday cakes are available upon in-store appointment.

The street food stalls serve barbecues, hot pots, spicy hotpots and noodles.

APRIL: The two flavors ofqingtuan (green sticky rice cakes), namely, the cheese and red bean flavorand the char siu flavor, are offered exclusively in early April during the Qingming Festival.

JUNE: dumplings of saltedyolk fillings and beancurd fillings are only available around the Dragon Boat Festival!

SEPTEMBER: check our exclusive seasonal flavors of mooncakes: the black sugar and walnut flavor, the red wine and Chinese yam flavor.

SPRING: come and taste our exquisite cherry blossom cakes during the cherry blossom season!

MUST TRY!The street food stalls run out of stock so quickly that even the President of Tongji University will be rejected if he comes late.

1.1.3 Northwest Canteen

Located in the northwest of the Siping Campus, this canteen is one the oldest canteens on the campus, hence also known as the First Canteen

Located in the northwest of the Siping Campus and next to the lush woods of metasequoia, Beiyuan Canteen is reputed for some specialty dishes that received overwhelmingly positive reviews on social media.

1.1.5 Sanhaowu Restaurant

Located by the international student dorm buildings, this restaurant is a gastronomic paradise for students, teachers and visitors toTongji Universityacross the world. The taste and the portion are both great! You will also love the authentic Shanghainese cuisine here. Dine with your friends and loved ones here in this restaurant of modernistic décor and congenial vibes. Two thumbs up!

1.2 Siping Campus: Zhangwu

Dongyuan Canteen

Located in the SipingCampus: Zhangwu，this restaurant brings tremendous delight to students.The miso soup and teppanyaki rice on Floor 1 received numerous positive reviews. The pork steak and braised pork onFloor 2are also quite popular.
