The International Students Office of Tongji University will initiate the evaluation process of the 2020 Tongji University Excellent International Student Volunteer Award among Tongji's international students soon. Application is available to potential students now.
I. Eligibility
● Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate international students who are on their second-year or above program;
● Those who have received disciplinary sanctions from the university or have been criticized in a circulated notice by their school/college during the year of the current evaluation are not eligible to apply;
● Winners of other University scholarships are eligible to apply.
II. Evaluation Criteria
● Organized or participated in organizing Tongji’s major volunteer activities with outstanding performance during this school year;
● Took an active part in social practice activities (including summer social practice, short-term internship, or other practical activities) with outstanding results;
● Played a prominent role in student organizations and made outstanding achievements in social work;
● Participated actively in various art, cultural and sports activities, and have achieved outstanding results in cultural, art, sports competitions or submitted entries to such activities at the university and/or above level；
● Played an active role in campus cultural activities, creative ideas or proposals for which were adopted by the University and achieved good results.
III. Application Materials
● The filled Tongji University Excellent International Student Volunteer Award Application Form (please download and print it from the website of the International Students Office at https://study.tongji.edu.cn/index/cyxz.htm);
● Other relevant supporting materials, award certificates, etc.
IV. Application Process
● Applicants shall submit the filled Tongji University Excellent International Student Volunteer Award Application Form to their school/college. The application form will be signed and stamped following a review process.
● Applicants shall submit the above-mentioned application materials to the Tongji University International Students Office either in person or send a scanned copy of them via email to iso-benke@tongji.edu.cn with the e-mail subject as [student number + name + 2020 Tongji University Excellent International Student Volunteer Award Application].
● The deadline for accepting applications for the Award is December 3, 2020 (including this day), and applications will not be accepted after the deadline.
V. Selection Quota and the Award
A number of award-winning places will be available to applicants, with an award of 3000 CYN per person. (Note: The evaluation committee will decide the number of awards for each year according to the number of applications of that year.)
The International Students Office will do the evaluation in accordance with the Tongji University Excellent International Student Volunteer Award Selection and Implementation Rules.
