Tongji University Press opens its e-book online platform "Tongji Study" free to teachers and students amid the coronavirus outbreak in response to the requirement by the Ministry of Education of "postponing school without suspending study". The free online reading service helps teachers and students teach and learn online at home.
Here is how to use the platform.
"Tongji Study " has both PC and mobile versions available to its readers.
How to use the PC version?
Step 1
Open the web site http://store.tongjipress.com.cn/#/，and click "Register" at the top right.
Step 2
When logged in, you may find the textbook in two ways.
(1) In the section "Discover the subject to your interested in ", click the subject you are interested in.
Take the subject "civil engineering" as an example. After clicking it, you will see all the e-books related to the subject. You may click the page number to turn the page.
Select the book you like and click the cover or title, e.g. Surveying (Fifth Edition). After entering this book, click "Read Online", and you may start reading.
(2) You may also enter the title of book or keywords in the search box at the top right of the homepage, then click the search icon (the red circle).
For example, enter "Building Structure Seismic" for your search. In the search results, select the book you need and click "Read Online".
How to use the mobile version?
Step 1
Go to a browser and open the link http://storeh5.tongjipress.com.cn/#/

Click "Mine" at the bottom right of this page, and then click "Login".
Step 2
The mobile version also provides two ways for search of books.
(1) Enter the title of book or keywords in the search box on the homepage, and books related to the search will pop up automatically.
For example, enter "Civil engineering" and select one out of the automatically popped-up book names; then click "Read Online" to start reading.
(2) You may also search for books by subject. Click "Books by subject" at the bottom of the page and select the corresponding subject. For example, click "Economy · Management", and select the book you need; then click "Read online" to start reading.
"Tongji Study" has nearly 200 kinds of e-books available. More books may be uploaded based up readers’ needs.
