On the evening of April 15, 2019, the Awards Ceremony of the 10th Car Design Awards China was held in Shanghai. Students ZHANG Yuxuan, LUO Minghao and WANG Juanwei from the Car Design Innovative Experimental Area, Tongji University, entered the final and achieved remarkable results. Among them, ZHANG Yuxuan won the nomination as the Best Eco Solution, meanwhile, LUO Minghao won the nomination as the Best Innovation and the only Special Award of the judging panel at the same time.

Car Design Awards China is hosted by Car Design News, the world's leading automotive design media agency. It is one of the most professional and influential competitions in the field of car design in China, of which the judges are design directors of renowned car manufacturers. This year, it received a total of more than 380 entries from 89 universities in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and the finalists were shortlisted for 25 works to compete for 10awards, including Best Exterior Design, Best Interior Design, and Best Mobility Solution.

ZHANG Yuxuan, LUO Minghao and WANG Junwei are all Junior students from the Car Design Innovative Experimental Area of Tongji. The Experimental Area was established jointly by the Automotive Engineering of the School of Automotive Studies, and the Industrial Design of the College of Design and Innovation in 2007, aiming to conduct an interdisciplinary joint training of future automotive innovation design talents with distinctive features of “Science and Technology” and “Humanities Art,” LUO Minghao said the training program provided him with a fundamental and clear understanding of his major. In addition, he has benefited from the sharing sessions conducted by the tutors in the small class teaching mode, which will offer great help to his study and career planning in the future.
