The International Rough Set Society (IRSS) announced the election results of its Executive Board. Miao Duoqian, professor from the College of Electronics and Information Engineering of Tongji, was elected Vice-president of the Ninth IRSS for the term of 2019/2020 through secret ballot of members of IRSS.


IRSS, founded in 2002, consists of three units: Executive Board, Steering Committee and Advisory Board. It is a non-profit international organization dedicated to scholarship in rough sets to promote the study and exchange of ideas and their applications in rough set theory and technology. The organization is governed by Executive Board, for which a Vice-Chairman and a Secretary are elected. An IRSS sponsored international professional conference is held every year, which covers such research fields as Rough Set, Granular Computing, Three-way Decision, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for researchers to share their research results and innovative ideas.
