On the afternoon of November 26th, 2018 SAS China Data Analytics Championship Award Ceremony organized by SAS China was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Tongji team composed of three undergraduate students HU Yukuan, SONG Zengchun and WANG Zixin, from the School of Mathematical Science won the national championship title. Four other teams from Tongji were all among the top 50 for the finals, the best results in competitions of its kind in history of the university.

The SAS Data Analytics Championship has been a top event in the field of data analysis for many years. A total of 1,321 teams formed by both undergraduate and graduate students participated in this year’s competition, including teams from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, representing the highest level of SAS application in China. Under the guidance of Prof. QIAN Zhijian, the five Tongji teams from the School of Mathematical Science shone all the way through the preliminary round (regions) of the two-round competition and entered the finals (Beijing) with overwhelming strengths and achieved excellent results eveentually.
