On May 17, Tongji University conducted the 2020’s second-round entrance examinations(SREE) of the full-time master's degree candidates online, and successfully held the first online SREEfor doctoral candidates as well.

The onlineSREE of Tongji University's postgraduate candidates have officially taken place since 9 May. To date, the university has set up nearly 600 onlineSREE sites in the Siping and Jiading campuses, and more than 3,000 candidateshave successfully joined the SREE. Facing the challenges brought about by the onlineversion of the exams, with the strong support of the relevant administration offices of the university and the full cooperation between the university administration anddifferent schools, nearly 2,000 faculty members and staff have participated in the SREEs. At present, the admission work is steadily advancing. It is expected to complete the admissions in early June.

According to the recruitment office ofthe Graduate School,the postgraduate SREE is an important part of theadmissionsprocess leading to the selection of student talents. It is also a necessary link to examine the comprehensive qualities of candidatesincludingacademic potential, innovationand professionalism. In these special times of epidemic prevention and control, and in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Education Department, the university strengthened organization and leadership, implemented policy requirements, and improved safeguards. Finally, the university steadfastly carried out the online SREE of the postgraduate candidates and ensured the safety and fairness of the selection process.
