To carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement and promote those young people who have been modelsin making outstanding contributions during the fight against the pandemic, and to guide and inspire the young people in our school to strive and forge ahead, the lecture on the theme of "Work hard for the prosperity of our country" was held by Tongji University. The event, held in the live room of Bilibili at 15:00 on May 3rd, commemorated the 101st anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. The 2020 Tongji University Youth May 4th Medal winners and the youth representatives of the medical workers who were at the frontlinein Hubei Province told their stories of rushing headfirst to fight the pandemic. This vividly interpreted the responsibilities of the youth in Tongji University. More than 7,000 people, including the Youth League cadres, Youth League Secretaries, and Youth League members of the University, watched the live broadcast online and listened to this patriotic class together.

Sharing in the moving stories of the mutual support during the hard times between their families, colleagues, patients and volunteers were: HUI Wei, the head nurse of RICU ward of the department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) of Tongji Hospital and the leader of the nursing team for the north third ward of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital in the first batch of Shanghai medical support to Hubei; XU Hong, a head nurse from Tenth People’s Hospital of Tongji University and the leader of a nursing team of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital in the first batch of Shanghai medical support to Hubei; -WANG Zhifang, a vice chief physician from the department of PCCM of Yangpu Hospital, Tongji University and the vice leader of the C3 ward of Leishenshan Hospital in Shanghai’s medical support to Hubei; HUANGGuoxi,the pharmacist-in-charge of East Hospital of Tongji University and the pharmacist-in-charge of “Wuhan Livingroom” makeshift hospital in Shanghai’s medical support to Hubei, and CHENG Kebin, a team leader andvicechief physician of the department of PCCM of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital of Tongji University and the vice leader of the third group for the north third ward (ICU) of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital in the first batch of Shanghai medical support to Hubei. The themes of "Where there is a country, there is a home-be the hero in harm’s way", "I have no regrets to rush headfirst", "Spring at Leishenshan", "Regretless youth as a medical worker", and "Great medical ethics bless our nation" were intensely in evidence.
