The Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Achievement Assessment of Renmin University of China released its latest evaluation results. Among the 2019 rankings of the reprint index of republished periodicals in the academic journals run by domestic colleges and universities, the ranking of the full-text reprint rate of the Journal of Tongji University (Social Sciences) rose into the top ten, ranking ninth in the country, and the second among universities in Shanghai. For the comprehensive index and full-text reprint rankings, it has also risen, ranking 15th and 21st in the country, respectively.

Each year, quality research papers in humanities and social sciences were selected out of 4,000 domestically published periodicals, classified, edited, and republished in the nearly 100 selected academic periodicals by the Newspaper and Periodical Resources Center, Renmin University of China. The ranking which shows the academic credibility of the domestic humanities and social sciences periodicals and of teaching and research institutions, is one of the references used for evaluating the academic influence of humanities and social sciences journals.

The Shanghai Press and Publication Bureau announced the results of the 2019 Shanghai periodical editing and proofreading quality inspection in March, according to which the quality of the editing and proofreading of the Journal of Tongji University (Social Sciences) is excellent, leading the college journals in Shanghai.

In the 6th College Social Science Journals Appraisal organized recently by Society of National College Social Science Journals, the Journal of Tongji University (Social Sciences) was awarded the National Excellent College Social Science Journal. The Germany and French Philosophy column of the Journal was rated as National Special Columns of College Social Science Journals, and the editor-in-chief of the journal, Professor SUN Zhouxing, as National Excellent Editor-in-Chief of College Social Science Journals.

Since the founding of Journal of Tongji University (Social Sciences), it has focused on academic hot topics and cutting-edge issues by strengthening topic selection and planning, and inviting well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad for contributions. The journal has become a domestic social science journal with its own style and influence.
