Thirty-Six Tongji Students Will Go to German-Speaking Countries for Exchange Next Spring

Thirty-six students from Tongji University have successfully applied for exchange programs with our counterparts in Germany and Austria for the spring semester of 2020. The exchange programs will involve 13 German universities including Humboldt University of Berlin, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Ruhr University Bochum, RWTH Aachen University, Technical University of Berlin, Technical University of Darmstadt, Technical University of Munich, University of Bonn, University of Freiburg, University of Konstanz, University of Leipzig, University of Munich, University of Stuttgart, University of Tübingen, and University of Innsbruck from Austria.


On the afternoon of December 12, a Preparatory Meeting for Tongji University's Exchange Programs at German-speaking Countries for the Spring Semester of 2020 was held in the Pre-departure German Training Department of Tongji University. Thirty-six students and some parents participated in the meeting. XU Chuanxiao from the Exit Section of International Exchange and Cooperation Office (International Office) of the University gave a briefing about the procedures concerning going abroad, and the safety issues for studying overseas. Dr. Gudrun Loerincz from DAAD who is teaching at the Pre-departure German Training Department, introduced campus life in Germany. The contact person from the International Office answered enquiries from students. The preparatory meeting was hosted by the International Office with support by the Pre-departure German Training Department.
