On December 14, the 3-minute video "China Through My Eyes" produced by Jacob Thomas won the special prize at the awarding ceremony of "China Through My Eyes" - the First Short Video Contest for International Students in China. Jacob Thomas, from the United States, is a graduate student on a Master's program with the School of Economics and Management, Tongji University.
XU Shiping, president of eastday.com, and MAO Weibing, general manager of China International Broadcast Network (Beijing) presented Jacob with the special prize.

The contest was hosted by the School of Media and Communication of Shanghai Jiaotong University with support from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing University, Communication University of China, Fudan University, Qinghua University, Renmin University of China, and Tongji University. Two hundred and twenty-four short videos by international students from 41 countries or regions were received for assessment. The students expressed their love and admiration for today’s China from their unique perspectives.
Jacob Thomas said at the awarding ceremony that the contest was not only a very good opportunity for students from all over the world to share their experiences in China, but also opened more doors for him as a business student.
Tongji University won an organization award for the contest.
