On November 30, the 25th China Daily "21st Century · Coca Cola" National College Student English Speaking Contest, the 18th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Contest, and the final of the Shanghai leg in the 18th China Daily "21st Century Cup" Middle School Student English Speaking Contest concluded in Tongji University. The event was organized by China Daily, and hosted by Tongji University. XU jianping, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, WU Yun, dean of the School of Foreign Languages attended the opening ceremony. WU Minsu, YAN Jinglan, HE Weiwen, GU Qiubei, LIU Sen, Alywin Chew and John Geddes served as the judges of the University Group, and WAN Jiangbo, ZHANG Yun, SUN Shanshan, GONG Ping, LIAO Weichun, LI Aiyun and Jennifer West the judges of the Middle School Group. Nearly 70 contestants from universities, high schools and middle schools in Shanghai took part in the competition.

In the course of the competition, the contestants expressed their own views, showed their concern for the development of their country and future of the world from the perspective of contemporary college students and middle school students.

The contests ended successfully after fierce competitions. All the contestants were highly praised by the judges and experts.
