On November 17, Professor FANG Shouen, party secretary of the University and other leaders of Tongji University visited Cixi Middle School (CMS) in City Cixi, Zhejiang Province and had a meeting with Mr. WANG Jiancheng, party secretary and director of Cixi Education Bureau (CEB), Mr. MO Zhihai, deputy party secretary of CEB and party secretary of CMS, and Mr. GAO Feng, headmaster of CMS. Prof. FANG gave them a briefing of Tongji University and started a discussion about how to achieve effective connection between university and middle school education. He did a presentation entitled "Tongji, Your Smart Choice" to students of CMS in which he introduced the University, its talent cultivation concept, educational model and achievements.

On November 26, President CHEN Jie and other leaders of Tongji University went to Beijing 101 Middle School which had signed an agreement with the University a month ago and met with the School's Party Secretary WANG Tao and Headmaster LU Yunquan. They discussed about ways to set up a Tongji Experiment Class based on the "Seedling Program 2.0" of Tongji University, and exchanged their experience of integrated education between universities and middle schools. Professors from the University were to work with teachers from 101 Middle School to build Tongji's special courses and innovative laboratories aimed at arousing the interest of middle school students in joining various contests and summer practice activities at Tongji. WU Guangming, vice party secretary of the University joined the president on the visit.

Since last month, university leaders including Party Secretary FANF Shouen, President CHEN Jie, and vice presidents and vice party secretaries WU Zhiqiang, XU Jianping, LYU Peiming, WU Guangming, FENG Shenhong, CHEN Yihan and other leaders have led teams to visit middle schools at Beijing, Shanghai, Shanxi, Gansu, Zhejiang, Yunnan and other provinces to conduct in-depth exchanges with middle school principals, teachers and students, and explore ways to integrate university education with middle school education. The university leaders also gave lectures to middle school students. They took active actions in promoting the University and sharing the university resources with middle schools, which was warmly welcomed by the middle schools.
