On October 25, the People's Government of Pudong New Area signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tongji University. The two sides will enhance their cooperation in artificial intelligence, health and medical care, decision-making consultation and personnel exchange to help the Pudong New Area play its core functions as Science and Technology Innovation Center with global influence through deployment of artificial intelligence.

The two sides will work together to promote AI research and development, product application and industrial incubation to form a smooth channel for the transformation of AI research achievements. They will strengthen the intellectual property protection related services with the help of China (Pudong) Intellectual Property Protection Center, optimize service and the business environment, and make every effort to ensure that core researchers and innovators will stay. They will give full play to the Shanghai Pudong Technology and Innovation Fund of Funds to attract social capital and further improve efficient transformation quality research achievements.

The two sides will also cooperate in health and medical care, decision-making consultation and personnel exchange. They will jointly optimize and upgrade the regional health planning, do research on a long-term mechanism for fine urban management, take Pudong New Area for demonstration of intelligent urbanization in densely populated regions, and exchange potential leaders in important management positions to work as shadows.
