On the evening of October 22, "the Mainstay", a large-scale reading drama made its debut in Room 101, Jiren Building at Jiading Campus of Tongji University. The drama with a theme on "Remaining true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind" was jointly organized by the university's Youth League Committee, the Art Center, College of Arts & Media and School of Humanities.

The reading drama took an exhibition style, which innovatively broke the boundary between stage and the audience with a focus on stories of people who had worked for Tongji University in the previous over a hundred years and made outstanding contributions to the country by engaging them in dialogues across history.

In recent years, the university has made great endeavors in mining the history and art resources in its archives, which resulted in a number of original art works branded as "produced by Tongji" that embodied Tongji people's love for their homeland in the form of art.
