On May 13th, the Key Laboratory of Shanghai Rail Transit Structural Durability and System Safety of the School of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University, was open to the public. Visitors could not only see the systems and equipment of the high-speed railway, but also experience the driving operation of high-speed trains, which aroused visitors’ strong interest. The laboratory has received more than 100 visits by teachers and students from Tongji High School, Xuhui Middle School as well as social organizations and individuals up to now.

The School of Transportation and Engineering has also built a demonstration base for smart rail transit to help promote high-speed rail transit knowledge, which is open to the public and primary and secondary school students.
