On April 24, the 4th Space Day of China, the League Committee, the Student Union and the Party Branch of Undergraduates, all from School of Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics (SAEAAM), Tongji University, held series of popular science activities. Both teacher and student party members promoted popular science knowledge of aeronautics and astronautics through aviation knowledge reports, aviation model production and promotional materials on the South Avenue of Siping Road Campus, at Tongji High School and at Fuxin Road Neighborhood Center of Siping Community.

A range of activities were organized by SAEAAM including hoisting road signs of Space Day of China along the South Avenue on Siping Campus, distributing promotional materials of aviation knowledge Q&As and conducting simulated flights to create campus culture on the theme of Devotion to Aerospace to Serve the Country. At Tongji High School, Mr. LI Jun, Assistant Dean of SAEAAM, introduced the Principle and System Composition of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to high school students to arouse their enthusiasm for science, interest in aerospace and in exploring the unknown. At the Fuxin Road Neighborhood Center, LI Yuzhu from the Tongji Aeromodelling Association (TAA) told stories of aviation knowledge to children; while ZHU Gangjian and GU Tianyu, also from TAA, helped children make eagle-shaped models.

The 4th Space Day of China themed on “pursuit of space dream for win-win cooperation”, aimed at arousing public interest in space, esp. among young people to become the space dream chaser in the new era.
