The Tongji University “Jiayuan Cup” Winter Long-distance Running 2018 & Nike University Elite Challenge -- Relay Race Trials were held at the Jiading campus of Tongji University on the afternoon of December 18th, 2018. The running was organized in two parts: a Five-km Health Run and a Six-member Team Relay Race with 3 km for each member. Mr. XU Jianping, vice secretary of the university Party Committee, delivered an opening speech and made the starting pistol for the competition. People from the Administration Office of Jiading Campus Management Committee, Department of Physical Education, and Youth League Committee attended the activity. More than 2,000 students and faculty members from Siping Campus and Jiading Campus participated in this competition.
The competition did not start until the 2000 participants had enough warm-up led by students from an aerobics class of the university. At last, the College of Civil Engineering won the first prize in the Team Relay Race, and the School of Mechanical Engineering and the College of Electronics and Information Engineering won the second and third prizes respectively. GAO Lianying, from the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and XU Yiling, from the School of Mechanical Engineering won the Men's and Women's Individual championships.
