To commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship, at the invitation of the Confucius Institute at J.F.Oberlin University, a Japanese delegation team of the Tongji University Student Art Group, composed of 16 teachers and students from the University Chinese orchestra, choir, dance group, and the Beijing and Kunqu Opera groups, visited Japan from November 14 - 17. On the evening of November 15th, a special performance of Chinese traditional art, called "A dream of sakura and maple, an ornament to youth,” was held at J.F.Oberlin University. The performance was organized by the Publicity Department of the Party Committee of the International School, and was hosted by the Art Center and the Student Art Group. People from the College of Liberate and Arts, the International School attended the performance together with Mr. YANG Guangjun, assistant President of J.F.Oberlin University and co-president of the Confucius Institute of the university.
The diverse performance was a splendid program in a warm atmosphere, which was composed mainly of traditional music, classical dance, folk songs, and classical Kunqu and Beijing Opera. The entire performance was full of expressiveness and appeal. The sincere and enthusiastic performance of the students showed the Japanese audience the charm and elegance of Chinese culture. After the performance, the audience gave long-lasting round of applause to the performers. The exchange performance ended in a huge success.






During their visit to Japan, the students of the Art Group learned and experienced the Japanese culture while spreading the Chinese culture. They visited the campus and the Confucius Institute at J.F.Oberlin University, and had much communication with the local students.
