From October 15th to 19th, Professor WU Zhiqiang, vice president of Tongji University, paid a working visit to Berlin and Bonn, Germany.
WU attended the General Assembly of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) 2018 and the 10th Anniversary of acatech in Berlin at the invitation of acatech. At the General Assembly, Professor Dieter Spath, the Chairman of acatech, presented WU Zhiqiang with the member certificate of acatech. Professor WU Zhiqiang is the second Chinese member of ACATECH as well as the first Chinese member in engineering.
The vice president also attended the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Universität Bonn. He expressed his hope for further cooperation between the two universities in addition to his congratulations to Professor Michael Hoch, President of Universität Bonn, on the university anniversary on behalf of Tongji University. Tongji University signed a cooperation agreement with Universität Bonn in May 2017. The two universities started their first exchange program in 2009 and have had cooperative projects in German and political science since then.
