On October 16, the closing ceremony of the 4th China College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at Xiamen University. Tongji University won one gold and one bronze medals in the national finals.
DWELT-Global leading Service in Precise Indoor Positioning, the video entry submitted by College of Electronics and Information Engineering, was awarded the gold medal. This project team was led by Dr. QU Xinyu under the supervision of LIU Erwu and WANG Rui, teachers from College of Electronics and Information Engineering. Based on independent research and development of DWELT, a highly precise indoor positioning technique, the project successfully solved the challenging problem of positioning without satellite navigation or wireless signal.

The Shanghai Jingwu New Material Technology Co., Ltd. project submitted by School of Chemical Science and Engineering won a bronze award. The project supervisors were YE Minghai and WANG Xuefeng. WANG Qunlong who founded the company in June 2016 was a graduate from the College of Chemical Science and Engineering of Tongji University. This new material technology company which integrates research, production and sales is committed to solving indoor air pollution through the research and development of new environment-friendly materials. It has had more than 10 intellectual property rights so far.
China College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is the most extensive and most influential innovation and entrepreneurship event among college students in China. This year’ s competition which was launched in March 2018 attracted around 2.65 million college students in 640,000 teams from China. In addition, more than 600 teams from over 50 countries and regions joined the competition.
