The 6th Sino-German Forum Held at Tongji University

On September 23rd, the 6th Sino-German Forum on the theme of Sino-German Relations in a New Era was held at Sino-German Institute of Tongji University on the Siping campus. The Forum was co-organized by Research Center of German Studies, Tongji University, Research Center of Sino-German Cultural Exchange, Tongji University, German Branch of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association and Global Research Center of Universität Bonn, Germany.

More than 70 experts and scholars attended the Forum. They were from leading universities and research institutes including Tongji University, Fudan University, Shandong University, Shanghai International Studies University, Zhejiang University, Universität Bonn, Helmut-Schmidt-Universität and China Institute of International Studies. The Forum focused on four topics of the 4.0 Merkel Administration's Policies Towards China, Current Issues in Sino-German Relations, Cultural Exchanges Between China and Germany, and Sino-German and Sino-European Relations.

Sino-German Forum, co-founded by the Research Center of German Studies, Tongji University and the Global Research Center of Universität Bonn, is a platform for academic and think-tank communication. It aims at exploring significant issues of current and future development between China and Germany. The Forum which has been held successfully every year at Tongji University since 2013 is gradually becoming a brand activity in Sino-German think-tank cooperation.
