The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held at the China National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from November 5th to November 10th, 2018. To hold the CIIE is a major decision made by the the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and an important measure to actively open the Chinese market to the world. It is the world’s first import-themed national exposition, as well as a pioneering event in the history of international trade.
The first CIIE will be the very last of the top four “host diplomacy” events of 2018 in China. To boost consumption, promote development and optimize insurance, it provides a platform for all parties to explore the Chinese market by making the significant move to support free trade and open the Chinese market to the world. As a proper way to expand the import of high-quality goods and services, CIIE will not only enhance the comprehensive national strength and improve industrial transformation, but also meets the diversified consumer needs in China.
The first CIIE consists mainly of three parts of National Pavilions，Industry Exhibitions and Hongqiao International Trade Forum. Among them, the National Pavilions can be taken as a World Expo on a small scale, the Industry Exhibitions as an import-oriented Canton Trade Fair, and the Trade Forum as one similar to the Boao Forum in the field of global trade.
