Sino-EU Doctoral School for Sustainability Engineering Held at Tongji University

The Sino-EU Doctoral School for Sustainability Engineering (SESE2018) hosted by the School of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with the Sino-German Institute and the School of Automotive Studies was held at Tongji University from September 17 to 21. Teachers as well as the management teams from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office,School of Mechanical Engineering and the Sino-German Institute of Tongji University attended the opening ceremony.

SESE2018 brought together nearly 40 doctoral students from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology,Harbin Institute of Technology and Tongji University along with over a dozen professors and experts. They made academic reports and exchanged views on Using Intelligent Manufacturing and Smart Energy to Build Our Green Smart City. In addition to presentations by the doctoral students,keynote speeches were respectively delivered by Dr. ZHANG Shicheng, Chairman of the Chinese Society for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Germany, Dr. Babel, CEO of Greater China of Fisher, a German company,Dr. ZHANG Rixin, General Manager of Vector (China), Professor ZHANG Xu from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tongji University, and Dr. WANG Xinzhi from Harbin Institute of Technology. Professors and industry experts had in-depth discussions on international research cooperation, university-industry cooperation, and joint training to improve doctoral students engineering ability.
