Tongji Students Receive Eiffel Scholarships

April 18, 2018

On Mar. 29th, the French government announced the recipients of the Eiffel Scholarships for the academic year 2017-2018. Three students of the Dual Degree programme conducted by ENPC (originally called École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées) and Tongji University, FAN Meina, ZHAN Yuhang and XIA Jingjing, were awarded the scholarship.

The Eiffel scholarship program is among the top-notch awards developed by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to allow French higher education institutions to attract top international students. It aims at cultivating outstanding talents in three major fields of engineering sciences, economics and management, and political sciences and law. The list of recipients was determined by the jury of the Eiffel scholarship program of excellence, after careful examination of applicants’ academic performance, honors of competition, social practices, and their plans of study and work.

Tongji University launched the Dual Degree programme with ENPC and ESPCI Paris (officially the École supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles de la Ville de Paris), respectively in 2009 and 2010. Graduates can obtain a diploma of engineers from the French side and another from Tongji University with a certificate of graduation. So far, a total of 54 Tongji students have been enrolled in both universities, 28 of whom received the Eiffel Scholarship.
