On Mar. 24th, the Annual World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, the School Hospital (Red Cross Association of Tongji University), along with the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (SCDC), Shanghai Health Commission, Yangpu District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Yangpu District Health Committee, Jiading District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiading District Health Committee, Red Cross Society of China (Shanghai Branch), and related departments of Tongji University, carried out a health education activity: ‘Health of School, Health for China’ at the Jiading Campus, where a seminar on TB control and prevention on the theme: ‘Towards Ending TB and Building Healthy China’ was held in response to the activity.
XU Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, made a speech at the seminar. He noted prevention and health care are in the core of safeguarding the health of both teachers and students. Dr. SHEN Xin, Director of the TB Prevention Department of SCDC, was also among one of the speakers who briefed on TB prevention and control.
Meanwhile, TB prevention activities were held at both the Siping and Jiading Campuses, including volunteer recruitment, on-site consultation, and quiz competition, where publicity materials were distributed.
