Mr. Gérard Friedlander, dean of the Facalty of Medicine, Université Paris Descartes, France, accompanied by Frédéric Batteux, dean’s assistant, and Marc Delpech, director of the university graduate school and a member of the National Academy of Medicine (Académie Nationale de Médecine), France paid a visit to Tongji University on the afternoon of Mar. 3, 2018. Mr. JIANG Bo, Vice President of Tongji University extended his warm welcome for the visiting group at Yifu Building on the Siping Campus. People from administration departments of Tongji University were present at the meeting.

After heated discussions, the two parties held reached an agreement that there was potential of cooperation between the two universities, for they had similarities, especially in geographical advantages, disciplinary structures and development orientation. They may join efforts in joint cultivation of doctoral students, in short-term international exchange and internship of medical students, and in research to benefit mutual development. In addition, they explored the possibility of jointly building a Sino-French Medical Center for cutting-edge research, clinical practice exchange, talent cultivation and academic communication.
