On December 25 and 27, 2017, the ‘German Night’ New Year Concert and the 13th Lecture on the ‘Week Concert’ organized by the College of Arts and Media and the Sino-German Exchange Center was held at the Jiading Campus and the Siping Campus of Tongji University.
ZHANG Weihong, a teacher from the Department of Music and Performing Arts of the College of Arts and Media, was the lead singer of the concert where LIU Jie, a tenor singer, was invited as the guest singer. ZHANG has earned the highest degree in vocal music at the Würzburg Academy of Music in Germany and was even invited to work at the Berlin International Vocal Workshop. After back in China, ZHANG held the vocal director post at the 4th Season of ‘The Voice of China.’ LIU, the gold award winner of the 1st Youth Singer Competition, is also among the Chinese tenors who had performed at the Metropolitan Opera House.
At the concert, ZHANG performed a list of German works ranging from songs to operettas, bringing the enjoyment of German music into full play. Teachers and students from Tongji University, greatly impressed by the performance, burst out in their long-lasting applause in praise of the concert.
