On Dec. 22nd2017, a sponsored supplement toScienceentitled ‘Reimagining new energy vehicles: Research innovations at Tongji University’ was issued along with its last issue of the year 2017 (Volume 358, No. 6370). The supplement briefed the latest progress and research results made by Tongji University in collaborative innovation of New Energy Vehicles (NEVS). The supplement reviewed the work in Collaborative Innovation Center for Intelligent New Energy Vehicles at Tongji University and introduced the development, achievements, cutting-edge technology, international exchange as well as the leading figures at the center.
Since 2001, Tongji University has taken the lead in the research of NEVS, be they elementary or applied ones. It has been leading the development of NEVS for more than a decade and has promoted the development of China’s new energy vehicles, especially fuel cell vehicles. Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the School of Automotive Studies and the 5th anniversary of the birth of the Collaborative Innovation Center, this special supplement shows readers all over the world the achievements of Tongji’s research achievements and innovative spirit in the field of NEVS, which greatly enhanced Tongji and China’s international influence in this field.
