To encourage all-round improvement of medical students` professional clinical skills and comprehensive quality, Tongji University School of Medicine (TUSM) organized its 2017 TUSM Clinical Skill Contest for Medical Students at the Clinical Practice Training Center on the Hubei Campus, Tongji University, on Dec. 16th. Contestants were from Schools of Clinical Medicine at Shanghai Tenth People`s Hospital of Tongji University, Shanghai Tongji Hospital, Shanghai East Hospital, and the six departments of TUSM.

The jury were comprised of medical experts from every affiliated hospital of Tongji University as well as other hospitals and institutes, with Prof. CAI Duan from Huashan Hospital, Fudan University being the president of the jury. The contest covered medical humanistic care, clinical thinking, clinical skills, public hygiene, and medical English. The contestants were asked to take online exams to test their theoretical knowledge before doing individual multiple-station exams. All the exams were thoroughly supervised by the judges.
After an intense competition, student group from the School of Clinical Medicine at Shanghai Tenth People`s Hospital of Tongji University won an award. At the same time, Mao Shiqi from TUSM won the First Prize during the individual competition. In his comment on the Contest, Prof. CAI affirmed the students` hard work and achievements, pointed out shortcomings and encouraged them to develop more self-discipline in their study in the future.
