On Nov. 28th, the results of the 14th ‘HUAWEI Cup’ Post-Graduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling were released. Tongji University ranked as the top player among 437 universities and research institutes with the number of its first, second, and third prize winners all topping the list. It marked a welcome progress of the innovation-oriented graduate education at Tongji University.
The ‘Post-Graduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling’ is a core event of the ‘Post-graduate Innovation and Practice Series Competitions’ organized by the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education (CDGDC), which is listed as one of the programs for innovation-oriented postgraduate education by the Ministry of Education.
Registration for the 14th ‘HUAWEI Cup’ started June 1, 2017 with the official contest being held September 16 – 20, 2017. The contest is open to both individual and group applicants (maximum 3 persons). A total of 10,454 graduate teams nationwide were finally enrolled, including 472 teams made up of 1,354 graduate students from Tongji University. In the contest, teams from Tongji University won 3 first prizes, 118 second prizes and 113 third prizes, being the most awarded players among all participants.
