On November 9th, the 2017 ‘Jingchuan’ Scholarship award ceremony was held at the College of Transportation Engineering on the Jiading Campus, Tongji University. XU Jianping, Deputy Party Secretary of Tongji University, LEI Zhibin, Director of Tongji University Sichuan Alumni Association and Chairman of Jingchuan Group Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony along with other guests.
The Jingchuan Group has been supporting Tongji students for nearly 20 years since it set up the ‘Jingchuan’ Scholarship at the College of Transportation Engineering in 1998. It further extended the award coverage in 2013 when its cooperation agreement with Tongji University was due, and had awarded this scholarship to more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Transportation Engineering and the College of Civil Engineering in the past two decades. This year, 10 outstanding undergraduate and graduate students were chosen as winners of the 2017 Tongji University ‘Jingchuan’ Scholarship.
At the ceremony, XU, on behalf of Tongji University, extended gratitude to the Jingchuan Group for repaying Tongji University over the past 20 years, and stated his expectations for Tongji students. LEI also expressed his gratefulness to his alma mater, and highlighted the cooperation between Jingchuan Group and Tongji University will continue to develop so that more students can benefit from the scholarship.
